From the moment ofits establishment and until his untimely death in2014, Vladimir Maximov was the art director ofthe Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theater. Maximovsartistic career began atthe Arkady Raikin Theater ofMiniatures asanart designer. His first unassisted stage production was the Hercules and the Augean Stables atSatirikon Theater in1986. Beginning in1989, Maximov became the art director ofthe Independent Theater Company ofAlla Sigalova, where hedesigned such stage productions asHide-and-Seek with Loneliness, Othello, Pugachev, Salome, LaDIVINA, and Mask Carver. Maximovsstage productions included The Adventure and Balaganchik ofthe Pyotr Fomenko Workshop, TchaikovskysEugene Onegin atthe Lille Opera Theater, Tsar Yemelyan atthe Fifth Theater inOmsk, Faust and Elena atthe Theater Festival inMaubeuge, M. Butterfly atUfa Drama Theater, Boris Godunov atYermolova International Theater Center, Love asMilitarism atOmsk Drama Theater, and Strindberg Blues atthe non-repertory theater ofMikhail Kazakov. Together with Pyotr Fomenko, Vladimir Maximov did alot toorganize the acting space ofthe Workshop Theater, and was the production designer ofthe majority oftheatersstage productions. On June 10, 2014, Vladimir Maximov passed away after along and severe illness.
