On May 15, 2019, to celebrate the birthday of Mikhail Bulgakov, we will present the first ever Moscow Art Theatre production of his play, The Flight. Written in 1928 specifically for the MXAT company, the play about the defeat of the White Army and the tragedy of emigration was banned by censorship and never staged until 1950es. This production is the second Bulgakov play directed by Sergei Zhenovach at the Moscow Art Theater. His 2004 production of The White Guard enjoyed a ten-year long run.
