He graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School in 1978 (course of S. Pilyavskaya and V. Bogomolov), and was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Art Theatre.

He made his debut in the role of Street Singer (“Life of Galileo”). After the partition of the Theatre in 1987, worked at the Moscow Art Theatre named after M. Gorky, where he played Glumov (“Enough Stupidity in Every Wise Man“), Wasska Pepel (“The Lower Depths“), Kovjel („Crazy Jourdain”), Nozdryov („Dead Souls”) and other roles.

Since 1990 working in the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre. Played in such performances as: “Deer and Shalashovka“ (Kostya), “Woe from Wit“ (Skalozub), “Boris Godunov“ (Kurbsky), “The Storm“ (Kudryash), “Eternity and One More Day“ (Count Avraam Brankovic), “The Beautiful life (La belle vie)“ (Albert), “Cyrano de Bergerac“ (Lin'er), “Professor of Literature“ (Rutilov), “Sanctimonious persons' Kabala” (Marquise d'Orsini), „Lady from the Sea” (A Stranger).

Now playing in performances: „King Lear” (Gloucester), „The Last Victim” (Vadim Grigorievich Dulchin), „Plump woman” (Prussian officer).

Also playing in performances „Faithful Wife” and „History of a Soldier” of the Moscow Theater named after N. Gogol.

Acted in such television films as: „Little nothings of life”, „St. Petersburg's secrets”, etc.
