He graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School in1978(course ofS.Pilyavskaya and V.Bogomolov), and was accepted into the troupe ofthe Moscow Art Theatre.

Hemade his debut inthe role ofStreet Singer (“Life ofGalileo”). After the partition ofthe Theatre in1987, worked atthe Moscow Art Theatre named after M.Gorky, where heplayed Glumov (“Enough Stupidity inEvery Wise Man“), Wasska Pepel (“The Lower Depths“), Kovjel („Crazy Jourdain”), Nozdryov („Dead Souls”) and other roles.

Since 1990working inthe Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre. Played insuch performances as: “Deer and Shalashovka“ (Kostya), “Woe from Wit“ (Skalozub), “Boris Godunov“ (Kurbsky), “The Storm“ (Kudryash), “Eternity and One More Day“ (Count Avraam Brankovic), “The Beautiful life (La belle vie)“ (Albert), “Cyrano deBergerac“ (Lin'er), “Professor ofLiterature“ (Rutilov), “Sanctimonious persons' Kabala” (Marquise d'Orsini), „Lady from the Sea” (A Stranger).

Now playing inperformances: „King Lear” (Gloucester), „The Last Victim” (Vadim Grigorievich Dulchin), „Plump woman” (Prussian officer).

Also playing inperformances „Faithful Wife” and „History ofaSoldier” ofthe Moscow Theater named after N.Gogol.
