She graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School in1959(course ofB.Stanitsyn) and was admitted tothe troupe ofthe Moscow Sovremennik Theatre.

She played: Younger Sister (“Elder Sister“), Natasha (“The Lower Depths“), mother ofValentina (“Valentin and Valentina“), Masha (“Echelon“), Golubeva (“Alone with all“), Podrezova ( „The East Stand”), Helena Alving („The Ghosts”), Jeanne Korableva („Accompanist”).

Inthe Moscow Sovremennik Theatre playing inperformances: „The Merry Wives ofWindsor” byWilliam Shakespeare (Mrs. Page), „Steep Route” byEugenia Ginzburg (Derkovskaya).

In2004, joined the troupe ofthe Moscow Art Theatre, where she played inperformances directed byKirill Serebrennikov: “The Petty Bourgeoises“ (Akulina Ivanovna), “ Representing avictim“ (Woman inakimono), “The Golovlevs“ (Arina Petrovna Golovleva), “ The Breath ofLife“ (Madeline Palmer).

Her directing works are: “Women's kingdom” (Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre), „Romeo and Juliet” (Moscow Theatre named after Pushkin) and „Cosmetics ofthe enemy” (Moscow Theatre named after Pushkin).

She teaches atthe acting faculty ofthe Moscow Art Theatre School and foreign affiliates (Stanislavsky Summer School inCambridge, post-graduate program with Carnegie-Mellon University inPittsburgh).

For her work intheperformance ofthe Moscow Art Theatre „The Petty Bourgeoises”, together with Andrey Myagkov, Alla Pokrovskaya was awarded Theatre Award „Seagull” (2004, nomination for “Best Acting duet”).
