Roman E. Kozak


Roman Kozak joined the MXAT acting company in1982after graduating from the MXAT School. Hewas the Artistic Director/Founder ofthe Fifth Studio ofMXAT (1990-1991) and The Stanislavsky Theatre (1991-1992), and heisafounding member and has been Resident Director ofThe Chelovek Studio Theatre since 1978. Mr.Kozak isnow the Artistic Director ofPushkin Drama Theater and Associate Professor ofActing atthe MXAT School. His acting credits include Konstantin inThe Seagull, Mozart inAmadeus, Dr.Lvov inIvanov, and AAinThe Emigrants, among others. Roman Kozak directed more than 20productions inBelgium, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, including Shakespeare's Measure for Measure and Othello; Chekhov's Three Sisters; Small Tragedies byPushkin; Miracle ofSt.Anthony byMaeterlink; The Masquerade byLermontov; The Marriage byGogol, and modern Russian and Polish plays byGalin, Mrozek and Petrushevskaya. His teaching credits include workshops, master classes, and productions atthe MXAT School, Stockholm Theatre Academy ofSweden, Theatre delaPlace inLiege, Stanislavsky Summer School and Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center.
