After graduating from the Slonov Theater School ofSaratov in1986and the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School in1990, Mr.Mironov joined Oleg Tabakov's Studio Theatre. There hestarred inanumber ofproductions, most notably inThe Passions ofBumbarash and Another Van Gogh. Asguest star atthe Moscow Art Theatre, hetook the role ofTreplev inThe Seagull and appeared asGeorge Pigden inNo.13, the Russian adaptation ofRay Cooney's Out ofOrder. Mr.Mironov also starred inseveral legendary productions staged byleading European masters, such asPeter Stein's Oresteia and Hamlet, Declan Donnellan's Boris Godunov, and Eimuntas Nekrosius' The Cherry Orchard. His work inthe theatre has brought him the International Stanislavsky Award, two Golden Mask National Awards, and three Crystal Turandot National Awards, among others.

Mr.Mironov's spectacular cinematic career has included such internationally acclaimed films asNikita Mikhalkov's Burned bythe Sun and Burned bythe Sun 2, Aleksei Uchitel's Dreaming ofSpace and His Wife's Diary, Andrei Konchalovsky's House ofFools, Aleksandr Mitta's Lost inSiberia and Valery Fokin's Metamorphosis. His lead inthe television adaptation ofDostoyevsky's The Idiot garnered him the Golden Nymph Outstanding Actor ofthe Year Award atthe Monte Carlo Film Festival. Heisalso the recipient ofevery national film award many times over.

In2006Mr.Mironov founded the Yevgeny Mironov Theatre Company, producing and playing the title role inKirill Serebrennikov's production ofBeaumarchais' Figaro.

AsofDecember 2006Mr.Mironov isthe artistic director ofthe State Theatre ofNations, where healso stars inAlvis Hermanis' international hit production ofShukshin's Stories and, most recently, Eimuntas Nekrosius' Caligula. Heisco-founder of the Artist Support Foundation, the artistic director ofthe TERRITORI International Theatre Festival, and amember ofthe Arts and Culture Council atthe office ofthe President ofthe Russian Federation.
