Alexey Frandetti, director: Directing at the Moscow Art Theatre is a huge honor and a privilege. But even more of a privilege is an opportunity to present the world premiere of a musical based on Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. This famous English romantic comedy has been translated into all major languages of the world and converted into film, television and stage adaptations — except it has never been done in Russia. In a way our creative team is trying to do justice to this witty and passionate piece of literature by producing it at the Moscow Art. Music by Peter Ekstrom and script by Jon Jory has been written with sophisticated Moscow audience in mind. We invite you to join us on an unforgettable romantic trip to good old England and enjoy live orchestra, more than one hundred costumes, English park on stage, and of course the famous love story.
